01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Burnaby at 4152 Hastings St, Osaka Sushi stands out as a must-visit Japanese and sushi restaurant for both locals and visitors craving authentic flavors. This cozy yet inviting spot masterfully showcases the art of Japanese cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients and meticulous preparation that shines through every dish.

Osaka Sushi’s menu is a treasure trove for sushi enthusiasts and tempura lovers alike. Their Tempura selection tempts with light, crispy hand-battered delights such as the Prawn Tempura – six juicy prawns fried to golden perfection – and the Assorted Tempura platter, an indulgent mix of eight pieces offering a harmonious balance of textures and flavors. For those who appreciate the natural sweetness of vegetables, the Pumpkin and Yam Tempura provide a comforting, subtly sweet contrast to the seafood options.

The crown jewels of Osaka Sushi’s offerings are undoubtedly their Sushi and Sashimi Love Boats. The Sushi Sashimi Boat for two delivers a stunning presentation and an exquisite tasting experience with a rainbow roll paired with a generous variety of fresh sashimi including tuna, salmon, amaebi, and hokkigai. The vibrant colors and silky textures of these expertly sliced morsels bring an authentic and sophisticated touch to the dining table. For solo diners, the Sushi Sashimi Boat for one provides a carefully curated selection that promises purity of flavor and a satisfying meal.

To complement the dishes, an array of sauces from classic Ponzu and Tempura Sauce to the uniquely flavorful Unagi and Mango Sauces offer an ideal way to enhance and personalize every bite. Each sauce is thoughtfully prepared, allowing guests to experiment and find their perfect pairing.

Beyond the food, Osaka Sushi shines in its welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. Customers frequently highlight the friendly staff and the smooth, enjoyable experience from ordering to dining. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, the quiet ambience invites conversation and savoring every delicate bite.

Reviews speak volumes about the consistency and quality at Osaka Sushi. Patrons like Yelyzaveta commend the freshness and generous flavors that define their sushi, while Chris appreciates the value of their combo meals paired with comforting miso soup. The combination of expertly prepared sashimi, amiable service, and a cozy setting makes it a place diners look forward to returning to again and again.

For anyone in Burnaby seeking a genuine Japanese dining experience that honors tradition without compromising on taste or comfort, Osaka Sushi is a shining culinary gem. From the crunch of the perfect tempura to the melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, every visit promises an exploration of texture, flavor, and the art of sushi craftsmanship.

I just had takeout the other night from Osaka Sushi in Vancouver, and it was really good. The sushi was very fresh, full of flavor, and obviously had very good ingredients used with great attention to detail. The servers were very nice; they made everything smooth. Their menu has great variety, and I relished everything on my order. Highly recommended if one is looking for some great sushi in Vancouver.

I ordered delivery from Osaka Sushi, they have a combo for a reasonable price where you can choose three items and get miso soup. It tasted pretty good.

Stopped in on a lunch break. The server was friendly and polite and the food came fast and was tasty. I ordered the tuna roll, salmon roll, avacado roll and the order came with a free bowl of miso soup. Everything was perfect but the tuna was a bit bland. None the less, I like the service and the restaurant atmosphwre was quiet and was pleasant which I greatly appreciate. If I'm in the area Ill eat here again for

Osaka Sushi has been my OG sushi place for at least the last decade. I keep meaning to post a review so finally here it is. I usually get sashimi, Nigiri, and the rolls. The raw seafood is always fresh and tastes great. There no filmy slimy residue that some places have. They have an all day special that you get to pick three items from a fixed menu and you get a bowl of Miso soup. (I belive the price is 16.99) The food is always delicious! I've attached different variations I've had of the all day special in the photos. The unagi roll is separate and not one the special menu.

March 2025 - we continue to order from this place and we feel bad for not making regular updates. LIFE gets busy. You folks are the best. There are a few things that make this place the best but I cannot say all that this is because I do not want it so busy that run out of all the dishes We enjoy. I guess they will keep being top place because of how big their portions are and how tasty their food is. Your missing out. Not all Osaka are the same. They privately ok owned. March 16, 2021- I do not always get a chance to keep up with reviews about this amazing place but hands down they are in the top 5 in Vancouver in my opinion. It is not just the beautiful art and vibrant color embedded within their food, it is in their secret recipes for sauces and broths. The freshness of their sashimi has a crunch to it rather than a mushy texture like at most places. Their dishes are unique and portions large with a fair price point. I have only found 2 places in Vancouver with the BEST ponzu sauce! One cannot understand Japanese food if they do not know what Ponzu sauce is supposed to taste like. I appreciate the art and passion which is clearly evident by the quality of food they provide. They follow all health guidlines and safety protocols long before they were mandated. Great job Osaka. This place is amazing. I do not like sharing the best places but I base my ratings at Japanese restaurants by their ponzu sauce. This place rates second in my opinion and as the best dishes that include their almost perfect recipe for ponzu. They have 3 different peppered tuna takaki, beef takaki, shocked oysters and they with customize any order. I love surf clams in ponzu. Mmm it's so good I buy it from them when I cannot make it to my favorite place. In fact they are both my favorite. These artists are excellent at their craft and their dishes are picture worthy, its just hard to take pictures when your mouth is watering and hangry sets in. If you try this place it will be hard to spend money at any other Japanese restaurant or Osaka for that matter since they are all privately owned and very different. Happy long weekend.
